A glutton for punishment?

It’s known that carp are extremely intelligent and are capable of learning quickly. Although I am a firm believer in this, one fish in particular has got me thinking... In exactly 40 days I caught the same fish three times.

In its defense the water is very turbid and it fell for three different fly patterns. Above all a fish has to eat to survive. It’s still interesting to catch the same fish three months in a row. In a similar pond I've caught the same carp about a dozen times but spread out over the past 15 years, but never in back to back months.

That's it, I fish ponds almost exclusively, a captive audience, now I really must study my pictures. Good job!

I believe that in the carp game I am the glutton for punishment. Continually searching them out only to have refusal after refusal. That makes me the GFP I think...

Cheers.

I've caught the same trout twice in the same month. The brookie had the same scar pattern on his left lateral side. The stream is small and not a lot of places for it to go. But, it was cool meeting him/her twice!

New challenge for 2013. Last year you caught 'a' carp in every month of the year. I say you up the ante and shoot for catching the 'same' carp every month of the year.
