13-0

If your an avid TRIW reader you may recall a goal I set for myself back in January... I set out to prove that carp season never ends. My goal being to catch at least one fish per month, January through December of 2012. I began "warm-up" fishing mid December of 2011 and haven't struck out since... It's been a wild ride to say the least. It was amazing to follow specific carp populations over a full years time. Having a front row seat to their seasonal moments, behavioral/metabolic changes, and learning capabilities.. As a carp freak I feel blessed to say the least. These fish are truly amazing.

December 2011-December 2012 Recap:

Follow the links below...

A December To Remember

Two Down, Ten To Go…

The Ides of March

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Three to go...

October:

I started off with a baby...

and ended by fishing through Hurricane Sandy...40+ mph wind and raining sideways. Scored two.

November:

We had a chilly November...

My first carp in the snow. I was pleased.

December:

I started December with a comet...which didn't count...

I kept searching until I brought two more to hand.

Done. Thirteen Months Straight.
Carp season is never ending. There is never an excuse not to go. Hurricane, Snow, whatever... Get out and do it.

Awesome! I count the comet. I still have yet to do a December and snow carp-I hope reading this is good luck!

Nice work, crossed the finish line at a stroll. Set myself some similar targets down here for 2013, 1 bone and a tarpon every month, I'm interested to see how long that lasts! Have a good Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Carp and facial hair through the seasons. Nice.

The variety of fish you're catching is interesting too.

Your gonna have to up your ante, this is getting too easy for you. A KOI every month of 2013? :)

A koi would be epic, maybe 2014. I think he should try to catch a carp over ten pounds every month.

Trevor, It wasn't that easy in January and February, I'll say that much. lol. I don't even know the whereabouts of twelve different koi, until then, catching the same one twice in a year would be quite the challenge.

Mark, I did think about the big fish thing. but with their learning capabilities I made the smaller just as worthy an opponent as the big ones. So size don't really matter to me.

Good stuff! Just finished 2012 with carp every month. Never thought it was possible here, but loving it just like you do.
